| Livingston Associates, P.C. has
developed pilot programs for innovative projects prior to a full-scale
implementation plan. Selected pilot studies are described below. |
|
Aquifer Storage
and Recovery Pilot Project
City of Alamogordo, New
Mexico |
| Livingston Associates performed a study
to evaluate historical spring flows and surface water supply which may
be available for injection into the City of Alamogordo, NM La Luz well
field aquifer and later recovered to augment the ground water supply and
provide for drought protection. Injection data for 30 days was collected
and a groundwater flow model developed to simulate a full-scale ASR program.
The study determined that ASR was feasible for the City of Alamogordo. |

Desalination Feasibility Study and
Pilot Project
City of Alamogordo, New
Mexico |
| Evaluated the feasibility of using brackish
ground water as a future water supply for the City of Alamogordo, New Mexico
and the surrounding region. Project components included groundwater flow
modeling, desalination water treatment options, pilot plant operation (using
reverse osmosis and electrodialysis reversal) at various wells in the area,
cost analysis and preliminary designs for a 13 million gallon per day facility.
Livingston Associates provided their on-site reverse osmosis pilot scale
water treatment unit to perform the analysis. |
